WARNING: CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS
Silica Hazard Warning
WARNING: Product contains crystalline silica, a substance known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Understanding the Risk:
Crystalline silica is a naturally occurring substance found in materials such as quartz, sand, and stone. When these materials are cut, ground, or drilled, fine silica dust is created, which can be harmful if inhaled.
Health Risks:
Prolonged exposure to respirable crystalline silica dust can lead to serious health issues, including:
Silicosis: A lung disease that causes scarring and reduces the lungs’ ability to take in oxygen.
Lung Cancer: Long-term exposure to silica dust can increase the risk of lung cancer.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): A group of lung conditions that cause breathing difficulties.
Kidney Disease: There is evidence that silica exposure can also affect kidney function.
Safety Measures:
To reduce your exposure to silica dust:
Use Respiratory Protection: Always wear a properly fitted respirator approved for protection against crystalline silica dust.
Wet Cutting Methods: Use wet cutting or other methods that minimize dust creation.
Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the workspace to reduce dust accumulation.
Dust Control: Use dust collection systems where available and clean up dust regularly using wet methods or a vacuum with a HEPA filter.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, including gloves and eye protection, when handling materials containing silica.
Your Responsibility:
It is your responsibility to be aware of and comply with all safety regulations concerning the handling, processing, and disposal of materials containing crystalline silica. Failure to do so can result in serious health risks.

Chemical Exposure Warnings (Proposition 65 Warnings)
The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) oversees implementation of California's chemical exposure warnings law, commonly known as Proposition 65. This law requires businesses to provide warnings before people are exposed to chemicals on the state’s Proposition 65 . The law applies to businesses with 10 or more employees that operate or sell products in California and includes the sale of products to people in the state over the Internet and through catalogs.
OEHHA's oversight includes maintaining the Proposition 65 list of chemicals through a variety of mechanisms. OEHHA also provides guidance to businesses and consumers. This includes the development of regulations to help businesses provide clear and reasonable warnings. This also includes the development of fact sheets that explain why certain chemicals are on the Proposition 65 list, how they are used, and how individuals can reduce their exposure to these chemicals.
Proposition 65, known officially as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, became law in November 1986, when California voters approved it by a 63-37 percent margin.

Proposition 65 warnings advise of exposures to chemicals that may contribute to an individual's overall lifetime risk of cancer or risk of birth defects or other reproductive harm.
If a warning is placed on a product label or posted or distributed at a workplace, a business, or in rental housing, the business issuing the warning is aware or believes that it is exposing individuals to one or more listed chemicals.
